Walking Football

The most important facts at a glance: walking football involves walking instead of running, the focus is on enjoyment of the game and fair play, and the sport can be played both indoors and on the pitch. The main rules include: no physical contact is allowed, the ball is played no higher than waist-high, there is a maximum of six players in the team and there is no goalkeeper. These and a few other rules help to protect the players‘ joints and prevent injuries and physical strain.

Walking football is suitable for all people and especially for those who can no longer play traditional football due to health restrictions.

Goals of the walking football movement!

To get women and men in general interested in the sport again and to bring former players back to their favourite sport in an age-appropriate way.

We would like all football clubs in Austria to bring their own former players back to the club and offer walking football. This would benefit people socially and physically on the one hand and make a good contribution to sporting and economic club life on the other.

If clubs are interested in exchanging experiences or need support in setting up their own club, they are welcome to contact the A-TEAM, but certainly also all existing clubs and organizations.
